Subsea CO2 storage in geological formations is among various proposed methods to mitigate the ongoing increasing atmospheric CO2 due human activities. One of its challenges is the concern about possible impacts on the marine environment if the CO2 storage were to leak. At Uni Research Climate we develop monitoring methods for leakage CO2 in the water column.
At Uni Research CIPR, we study storage security of the injected carbon dioxide. Priority areas are simulation models for flow in the reservoir, assessment of cap rock integrity, uncertainty assessment and monitoring methods.
